The Star Wars plot centers around the adventures of the rebel alliance against the Evil Empire. The main character is a young man called Luke Skywalker. After Luke's guardians, his Aunt Beru and Uncle Owen were brutally murdered at the hands of the Empire's Stormtroopers in an attempt to recover R2D2 and C3P0, he finds himself on an adventure that would see him leanring the ways of the force and battling with the all-powerful Lord of Sith, Darth Vader himself.

Along the way he makes many friends and allies, all sympathetic to the rebellion's cause. He meets Han Solo and Chewbacca whilst trying to get off his home planet of Tantooine to go help the Princess on Alderaan. He rescues the Princess after the Millenium Falcon - Solo's ship - gets captured in the Death Star's powerful tractor beam. Obi Wan Kenobi, Lukes Mentor when his Aunt and Uncle die, gets killed by Darth Vader during the recue attempt, and becomes a sort of Guardian Angel for Luke during his quest to become a Jedi Knight.
